Environmental Performance
MDE’s high efficiency heating systems avoided the burning of over 5,439,000 m3 of natural gas in 2014 (equal to eliminating the natural gas consumption in over 2,266 Markham homes).
Return on Investment
Markham’s long term return forecast on its equity investment of $38.4 million is between 7.0% and 9.5% based on several factors including the pace of development and commodity pricing.
Now in our 15th year, all of MDE’s capital projects have been completed on schedule
One of MDE’s core values is to exceed our customer’s expectations. For our infrastructure investments, this means completing our projects on time (or early) which is critical for our customer’s success.
Infrastructure Investments
In addition to connecting new customers in 2014,
a key project included the completion of a thermal piping connection between Downtown Markham and Uptown Markham via the new Birchmount Road extension and the Birchmount Bridge.
